I have many thoughts, and might write them out later. But for now, I just want to talk about the final two gundam designs we get in the last couple of episodes, the Calibarn (where did that r come from?) and Schwarzette.

The Calibarn's design initially confused me. It looked very plain, and for some reason its main thrusters were attached to a cannon instead of its back. Watching it fight, it finally clicked: it's meant to look like a witch's broom. Now I'm fully on board, cause that's fantastic. The plainer design was also deliberate, since it gets the Aerial's gundbits to flesh out its silhouette, although we don't get to see it fight in that configuration. It's still not my favorite design, but it gets high marks for being unique.

Now, the Schwarzette... what a machine. It just screams that it's the bad boy of the group. Schwazette listens to screamo and smokes. It's also my favorite from this show. There's so many aspects of its design that I love. The circular head crest. All the unique formations of its gundbits. There's the initial one around a sword to form this final fantasy-esque gun-sword, and also the secondary formation where they fan out from the shoulder (like a much cooler, edgier Nu Gundam). The dark purple color scheme is perfect for it. This is a gundam that fucks. Such a shame we only get to see it fight once.

I want a Schwarzette gunpla, goddamn.
