I had the Patreon integration setup for years as a simple, "Add people to the server and give them 2 roles" 1 role was my general server role that gives access to channels, and the other was a special one just to show off that they were a patron.

I woke up this morning to the bot having removed the general server role from every member of my server. Attempts to add it back resulted in the bot simply removing it again seconds later. This is not a behaviour it has ever exhibited in the 2 years I've had this service configured.

I went to Patreon itself to try and fix the matter, but it would not let me update what roles were being managed by the bot without granting the bot the power to Kick users.

Hopefully, you can understand my hesitation to give a bot that just decided no one in my server deserves roles the permission to kick all 120+ members without warning. Now there is a chance that simply giving the bot permission to kick would've fixed the situation (it had permission to do everything else and until today that was fine and Patreon didn't care). But I wasn't risking it and instead just disconnected the integration for safety.

Another member of my server, a twitch streamer with a reasonably large community, said that she had the same issue this morning. This leads me to believe Patreon has updated how their bot does things.

I heard that patreon was finally adding the ability for people to not be added to every single server linked to people they subscribe to, so it may be related to that. That feature is a few years overdue now.

Not that it excuses anything breaking, just might be related.
