You now need to click Playlists, which replaces the entire video feed on the right with a list of all of your Playlists (hope you don't have a lot of them!) and then you have to navigate through that list in a manner that's far slower and less space efficient to find your Favourites...

AND THEN!

Rather than taking you to the nice list view you could scroll through easily to find the video you where looking for, it instead just plays the first fucking video in the list

They've been making it harder to access this feature for years, but this is such horrendous UX change and I'm real mad

Like I understand that a faves collection is likely a feature not many folks are using and that it's functionally no different to a playlist, but I personally use the feature regularly and this new approach is just flat out worse for playlists

Moving all your playlists to a less user friendly but more tablet attractive layout I could see making sense in some world to some exec, but the default of playing the first video in a playlist rather than taking you to the list view (which is still there but takes 2 more clicks and a video loading to get to) is just baffling horrid design to me. [edit] Turns out they do have that function, but it's through an easy to miss and tiny text link, so my point still stands Arrow pointing to the horrid tiny button that takes you to the list view

Knowing this was likely done as some way to better push content that keeps people on the platform or makes more money or some other BS really isn't helping to quell my anger about this

Endless growth fucks everything and I get that Youtube is likely a massive loss for Alphabet due to the file hosting costs alone, but having a huge platform where everyone can share videos about whatever regardless of who they are is likely a good thing and every little UX change like this over the years makes me curse it more
