Private alt account Twitter is the only way we can tolerate that site anymore. Our main is only used for promotion and boosting these days
I don't use Bluesky much but I have to admit, the nuclear block that deletes the reply or quote-tweet you are citing as the reason is leagues ahead of this shit, which is a giant step backwards.

A small note, especially for anyone who doesn't post on Twitter but still has an old account sitting around: taking your account private still works, and it will additionally inhibit Musk from monetizing your posts as private accounts don't seem to get recommended in the "For You" feed.
It feels like they shouldn't be stupid enough to actually go through with this after threatening for like a year but it's felt like that for a lot of things.
Leaving Cohost to go back to Twitter is like climbing out of a hot tub to jump into a septic tank. Don't do that to yourself. There's nothing on Twitter that's worth going back.
Yeah this is stupid but does it matter? Haters will just open your account in a private tab to see your posts anyways.
every speedbump is still friction that a bad actor has to get past. your workaround wouldn't even suffice now that logged out users can't see chronological user timelines anymore.
Wait, isn't the ability to block users like, a requirement to be allowed in the EU or something like that?
