Now that a bunch more people are on here I'm going to do what I should have done in the first place, which is make a post about me and the things I like/might post about, and then pin it so it's actually, you know, visible. Imagine that!
DORIAN INTRO TIME
- I'm a two-spirit Métis person in my early thirties! I have a lot of thoughts about Indigeneity and several of the big discourses happening within Indigenous communities, but so far this hasn't really seemed like the platform to go long on those, so I've largely refrained.
- I'm disabled! I have various chronic pain-causing ailments and various stuff going on in my brain. I complain about these things regularly and will probably do so here.
- I'm, after a decade-long hiatus from academia, in college to become a library technician! What will I do with this qualification? Who knows! But I'm enjoying the journey so far and would like to blog about it, probably.
- I read a lot. I don't review the things I read but I do log them on my storygraph with star ratings. The stars don't follow a set system, it's all vibes-based and I do change my mind about things.
- I listen to music, a lot. I have a substack I update almost never and a spotify profile where I have a bunch of playlists for highlights from given months/quarters/years. If I'm "known" for anything online, it might be this, but that's a fairly big if.
- I sing! Both professionally and for fun. A bit as a soloist but largely in choirs.
- Broadly my interests include folk and world music, science fiction, fantasy, and historical fiction, video games (lots of indie stuff, big Nintendo tentpoles like pokemon and mario, and also mobile game/multimedia franchise BanG Dream!)
- I'm probably gonna post selfies here, some of them may be ~racy~. The latter will always have an adult tag and I'm not yet sure how often I'll be doing that. I do have a secondary page set up @DorianAfterDark and anything actually explicit will, I think, end up there.
Anyway, that's me. I do know some people on this platform already but I'm always happy to meet more, and have enjoyed meeting the various folks I've already started talking to through here. Please say hi, ESPECIALLY if you actually check out any of the music I post about.
