very music-heavy weekend i’m having..there’s my normal sunday work today but yesterday my community choir had our hallowe’en cabaret, and while of course it’s a collective effort and i love how many choir members stepped up to perform solos
my numbers got a huge amount of positive feedback from audience members and other people in the choir, both to my face and (i am told) in conversations with our director, and i do feel that means i won
and also i did box office for two performances of Scream Queens the musical! the cast was great and had a couple people I knew in it, including one I haven’t seen perform in ages. The show itself...has some genuinely clever writing and fairly catch songs, but leans a bit too hard on “B-movie horror is dumb and bad but the actresses sure are busty and wear very little clothing!” for the majority of its jokes. Like even in songs that are otherwise really solid, basically every number has some kind of riff on that basic theme.
