I have xscreensaver installed on my desktop at work and people stop and marvel at it regularly because we've turned our little guys into joyless pieces of shit
Also xscreensaver is available for every Unix in existence including macos and it's so good. So good.
as someone daily driving the pipes screensaver from xscreensaver I can agree: it's good

also widgets definitely should make a comeback, because on desktop they're just gone.
I made a custom screensaver that shows my logo rotating in 3D and I love it because having it up on a bunch of displays at once makes me feel like a supervillian.
