- renaming Twitter to X completely destroys its brand identity that it's built up over the course of 17 years
- breaking the 140 (280 i guess) character rule and letting users do way more than 4 images/1 video and no markdown - again - destroys its brand identity for short blurbs
- allowing users to make money off of Twitter via purchasing a verified account (or premium) confirms the dead internet theory's relentless presence in modern social media
- given that Twitter tailors your social media feed based on what you positively interact with you're more often than not going to get stuck in the same circle without any kind of outside interference leaving you with zero second opinions
- Twitter is by far one of the most popular social media platforms out there, followed closely by Facebook and Instagram, and due to its consistent brand identity it's managed to maintain a cult following that's been completely ruined by Elon's acquisition
- people have to stay on Twitter anyways because so many people are already using it and moving to a different website altogether would be exceptionally jarring
- who the fuck would call something X anyways
Elon's sudden purchase and rebranding of Twitter to X only solidifies the growing trend of corporate brands focusing exclusively on financial success and expanding their reach instead of catering to the user's needs
tl;dr: use cohost, delete twitter
