funny shitpost for americans but you have to understand when i was 9 and saw the trailer for final destination 2 threre's a bit where a guy almost gets his hand destroyed by the garbage disposal and being british i had literally never seen one before in my life so basically felt like this for years til i found out that was normal

We also don’t have them in the Northeast (or at least around NYC) so for years whenever I heard “garbage disposal” I thought of a normal trash can

huh. not to conflate tv and reality, but i have a pretty distinct memory of a Seinfeld episode where Kramer gets a garbage disposal put into his shower.

I have never seen a Seinfeld unfortunately. It could be that they're here, just less common? in no place that I've lived or visited in NJ or NY have I seen one
