Mech Pilot who sends you a short wave message before retreat: “this ain’t over -”
Yvette caught her breath as the dust cleared. In the endless expanse of the Wasteland, she could still see the red and black mech speed away in the distance, its coat scuffed and tarnished by blast marks. As the adrenaline faded, she finally noticed the indicator on the intercom flashing. She accepted the incoming message and saw the staticky face of Katarina with her usual grimace.
“I’ll have you know, this ain’t over!”
For some reason, Yvette wasn’t in the mood for this today.
"Yeah, I know it's not over! It wasn't over yesterday, or the day before, or any of the other Gods-know-how-many-times you've come after me!"
Surprised, Katarina shrank into her seat. Yvette didn’t usually go off like this, but she was on a roll and wasn’t about to stop now.
"Seriously, what the hell's your problem? You'd think you'd have learned your lesson and gone after a different target by now. Why are you so fixated on me?"
Katarina glanced away, a light blush forming on her cheeks. Yvette felt a pit form in her stomach as her anger cooled.
"Um, hey, listen...if there's anything you want to talk about—"
"Sh-Shut up! Next time you're dead!" Katarina shouted and closed connection.
By this point, the opposing mech was completely out of sight. Yvette stood there for a moment before continuing onward. Maybe she’d think of something to say before Katarina attacked tomorrow.
