I have now completely rewritten the first chapter of a WIP story I started... a couple of years ago, because I have lost the previous version. I remember writing it. I remember the notes I hit in the first five chapters, even... but it's just fucking gone.
Not sure if I even want to bother trying to recreate the rest of what I had, because what's on the page so far is doggerel.
Feels bad.
