"The city is still bathed in darkness, with no response from the Kitten Crusaders. It's been almost twelve hours since the sky was flooded with drones topped with large solar panels, all connected to a massive heatlamp floating directly above Kitten Crusader HQ. We go now to our reporter on the scene-"

A reporter pokes at the sleeping Kitten Crusader Tabby, curled up on the lawn.

"Uh, yeah, uhhh..." She says, looking to her shrugging cameraman. "They're still all asleep."

She gestures as her cameraman pans across the lawn, where every single Kitten Crusader lies fast asleep.

"We go now to a witness who saw the whole... dire scene, unfold."

She carefully steps over Tortie, shaking her off gently when she tries to latch onto her leg, and holds her microphone out to a man as he preens himself for the camera.

"Right, so, I live just over there-" He points. "And I was home when it all started. I didn't notice anything when all the drones showed up to block the sun, just thought it was cloudy, but then that big lamp turned on and I was like, damn! Can I swear?"

"We'll bleep it. Continue."

"Right, so I went outside to see what was going on, and I saw all the Kitten Crusaders running out, all ready to jump into action and stuff. So they all run out, and they get a few steps outside and just kinda, slow down. Start yawnin'. They all lie down, purrin', and look at 'em now."

"There you have it folks. A uh, a dastardly maneuver, to disable the entire team in a single strike. Emergency services are attempting to assist the magical girls, to no avail."

The cameraman focuses on a group of paramedics, two of which carry Kitten Crusader Calico out of the warm light on a stretcher. She stirs and does a big stretch, then hops off the stretcher and wanders back into the light, ignoring the efforts of anyone who attempts to stop her. She snuggles into Crusader Tuxedo and falls right back asleep, and the cameraman pans back to the reporter, who shrugs exasperatedly.

"We'll be sure to keep you updated as the scene unfolds. Back to you."
