I only just discovered Love Spirals Downwards on Friday but I immediately fell in love with them, and they're the music I'm most excited about right now. Across four albums, Ryan Lum and Suzanne Perry's 90s ethereal wave/dream pop project were a wonderful successor to the 4AD sound, initially landing somewhere between Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance before later fusing it with electronica and 90s club music.
I had trouble picking a song to post because there are so many good ones but I decided to go with "Will You Fade", the opener to their excellent second album Ardor and one that leans more on the dream pop end of the spectrum. It starts with Suzanne Perry's voice wrapped up in a lovely and lushly atmospheric bed of acoustic guitar and synthesizers before shifting into a shoegaze-y wall of electric guitar halfway through. I love it very much
