Early OMD is such a fascinating group for the way they brought a real love of electronics and a strong avant-garde experimental streak to the realm of new wave synthpop. Dazzle Ships serves as a fascinating capper to the first phase of their career, moving further than ever before into the realm of sound collages stitched between electronic pop tunes. That combo helps the album sound like an eerie garble of radio stations picked up over the soundwaves. Great stuff
