This was included in my new wave summer post but I think it very much deserves to be posted on its own. There's a list of songs in my head that meet the condition of "sometimes I'm convinced it's the greatest song ever recorded" and "Heart of Glass" is on the list! I'm not super familiar with Blondie's discography as a whole, but Parallel Lines is a pretty great album as well

plus she got horrendous press for doing a "disco" song but this song has absoLUTEly stood the test of time and I also go through phases of being like..... maybe heart of glass IS the best song... ever........
The anti-Disco backlash of the late 70s was truly a miserable cultural moment on several levels but the truth is Disco simply whips. Sorry but it's an unassailable fact and Blondie did it so well
