I've been on a big Sisters kick recently. Floodland tends to dominate my attention because of my love for its big singles but First and Last and Always is an equally excellent album with a very different identity all its own that proved just as influential on the burgeoning Goth Rock genre. There's a lot of great tracks on it but "A Rock and a Hard Place" is my favorite

First and Last and Always is so good. All three albums are great but I love that FLA has so much of Wayne Hussey and Gary Marx's musical influence instead of just Uncle Andy writing everything, it gives it a really interesting... tension, I guess.

I agree! Tbh while I prefer Floodland I’d argue FLA is more consistent as an album and I love the guitar work. It’s clear the strengths of the various band members dovetailed well, it’s a bummer they split up
