I will miss cohost dearly for so many reasons other folks have already said. It has been a very cozy home for me online for the last two years and right now it’s hard to imagine being anywhere else.

One thing that was really special for me about cohost is that I actually felt good sharing my creative work here. As an extremely amateur artist and photographer, I feel like people were so kind and really thought my stuff was cool. I think the key difference on cohost is people look at stuff and think “wow, someone made that!” instead of just viewing creative work as an endless stream of algorithmically curated Content to inject into your eyeballs.

I know at least that was true for me, I engaged with people’s posts and creative work here with so much more interest in curiosity. I discovered so many new things I would have skimmed past on another website and I came to appreciate the people that made them and the work that went into them.

This was a website where everything felt exciting again, where anyone could create and that was special and it would not be swallowed by the vortex of Content. I’ll miss it so much! But I’m trying to take this curiosity and excitement with me wherever I go.
