I love how sci-fi of the era was obsessed with this idea? I wonder if the Dirty Pair Flash "Earth theme park" storyline was inspired by this or they just both liked the idea
I checked and Texas Colony showed up allllll the way back in the original Gundam, so given its cultural impact I would not be surprised if Dirty Pair Flash took inspiration from it!
Literally taking a break from watching this episode, and this shot happened less than a minute after reading this.
Imagine escaping to space, only to end up back in Texas. Stuff of nightmares.
