I just learned that the psych term for a lot of The Garbage is “moral contamination” and god it fits so perfectly
holy fucking shit how can i thank you for giving me a term to use in place of "virtue signalling?" now i can finally have a conversation with someone about this without using absolutely poisoned language
i’m still bitter that that term got co-opted by the right; it’s so clear and useful without the nasty baggage it’s got now
