Cohost Favorite Games of 2023 Survey!

Folks have been talking up that 2023 has been one of the best years for video games ever. But between massive layoffs, horrible thinly veiled commercial that is the game awards, the increasing lack of discoverability for small games, and all the other stuff around video games this year, I figured it might be nice to run an informal survey of Cohost's favorite games of 2023 (and what 2024 games are folks here most excited for.)

For the morning crowd. I will admit it was fun to wake up this morning to a decent chunk of responses. There's already some interesting things being showcased. Particularly in the games people are excited to play next year question.

This was fun! it made me realize I need a like, goodreads for video games, though; I really had to work to remember what I played outside of my evergreen multiplayer games!

Yeah. I have a spreadsheet I update because that's the sort of sicko I am, but other folks use a letterbox like service called "backlogd" (I think).

Because of the content updates, and because I got it on Switch, I had to remember when I actually played Iron Lung if it counted as a 2023 game (bought it in January, came out in December 2022).

For the purposes of this survey, yeah, it counts. If you played it in 2023 then it counts.
I had considered putting a section where you could mark the year, but Google forms doesn't allow the way I would like that so, I didn't include it. I might try to compile a release year for games once the survey is done, but that might be too much work and could be wonky considering platform releases/etc.
