Fwiw Aftermath did actually run an article on the letter, though it would’ve been a nice of them to re-up it so it was front page the night of the awards. https://aftermath.site/one-week-and-2600-signatures-later-game-awards-havent-acknowledged-future-class-palestine-letter
Oh nice catch, I did not see that one. I'll make an edit to the original post.
I also did find a really good writeup on Kotaku that mentions the letter not receiving a response as of the day before TGA. It is nice to see that there was discussion of these things, just really wish that yeah, discussion of it didn't get buried by coverage of the event itself. (The Kotaku piece for example got bumped off the front page and buried with TGA announcements not long after it went up.)
I don't have an Aftermath account so I can't confirm this is the case, but it looks like that article is a riff on the longstanding Deadspin/Defector joke blog called "What time does 'what time does the super bowl start' start?"
Those blogs would always catalog other outlets' "What time does the super bowl start?" SEO-bait articles and when they were published. Most crucially, the blog would not answer the actual question of when the super bowl starts.
I got the joke, I just didn't think it was a very good one, not when there were so many issues re: TGA
I just assume years of commercial blogosphere brain is why they're (all?) like that with the shit posting.
