gonna angry post about it here instead of twitter but why the fuck does the new Civic (RS) look like this man

im even gonna play with one arm tied behind my back and not link the 5th or 6th gen--whatever happened to like the friendly lookin' car that a teenager and grandmother could drive.

whatever happened to the city car (not the actual Honda City, you know what i mean)

worse is that the thing is basically not even a civic anymore it's functionally a Honda Accord with a hair shorter wheelbase.

im not even being a kei-supremacy type right now i just miss the standard compact car actually existing instead of being an aggro-designed sedan-derivative monstrosity

We had the age of cars that look like sneakers, and then the age of cars that look like cell phones, and now I guess we are in the age of cars that look like Michal Bay's Transformers?

god i remember loving that futuristic weirdo civic design from 2006 (iirc) that looked like a rice cooker, with the twin triangle exhausts and the hidden back door handles and the solid piece of glass covering the H. kinda feels like a bad omen for the future now

yes! my partner has a civic hybrid from 2008 i think? and it has a fantastic dash. my 2015 outback cannot compete (and modern cars are a total joke, one of my greatest frustrations is modern dash design)

Remember when not all Nissans were out for blood in their stylings? Like, yeah you had the Skyline and stuff, but a Maxima was just the most "dad" car you could get from them, and now, every single Nissan model feels like it's ready to do donuts at you in the Denny's parking lot when no one even cares.

I played GT5 recently and was hit with how much I miss some older design in cars. Just. More fun stuff and more "(boring) good" "a car" looks. Being reminded of the back of the CRX and (original) NSX makes the current Accord look even weirder. If Honda wants me to like them again they can bring the 4th gen Fit over. and the N-van/wagon/box. Went looking for potential new car next year for family and every entry on my list can be described as "settling".

I am going to be so sad when my 2nd gen Fit is no longer road worthy.

The newer HR-Vs are such an abomination. I certainly don't want a car that is so hyper-aggressive looking and ugly. I just want something smol and friend-shaped.
