@lutz

the best part of this has been the young German couple who sat down across from me and pulled out (hers) a single slim Camus paperback and (his) a large glossy magazine that appears to be solely composed of black and white photography of industrial machines and 19th century brickwork

I am very, very excited to use this new season of SbG to kick off another new-to-me series. I had never heard of Gene Wolfe before season 1 and have never read Earthsea (though I tried once, got a couple chapters in) until now.

Thank you for juicing (?) my desire to read new fiction!!

in reply to @lutz's post:

I was lucky enough to get my reading editions for earthsea at a used bookstore, cause it was either this massive tome printed on bible paper, or the dreadful (IMO!!!) modern editions that are all trying to look like A Song of Ice and Fire covers, with some clip art doodad floating in a blank void...it's not respectful...we have gorgeous editions of LOTR but earthsea is out here fighting for its life

I bought all the cruddy paperbacks before we decided to go with the omnibus for the show so I gave the paperbacks to my niece for Christmas and then immediately worked myself into a position where I'm traveling with this thing for two weeks :host-cry:
