one time i won a raffle on tumblr for an Art and i was like 19 and didn't have any good refs for my OCs so i asked the artist to draw Freya Crescent FFIX and the artist said they didn't know who that was so they drew a lion instead. like just a random lion. one of the most bizarre interactions of my life.
like i'm sitting here thinking about it and the more i think about it the more confused i get. if they'd been like 'i'm not really sure i could draw her, could you pick another character?' i would've been fine with that but. they just drew a lion instead. like it wasn't even MY lion it was just. a lion. what the fuck? like i wasn't (and am not) mad about it i'm just so confused
