I have been (admittedly inconsistently because screw this country and working for it) throwing applications at the proverbial wall of the job market for almost a year now. I’ve had three interviews. None of them resulted in a job.

I swear that half these companies aren’t actually hiring. They’re just pretending to satisfy current workers or to get some government benefit.

I would suggest looking for jobs adjacent to assisted living tho. Not because it's good, but because no one wants to do it, so you're more likely to get hired. (That's assuming you've got relevant exp, and you can handle working in those places).

I had a job in assisted living and my co-workers were infinitely more of a problem than the actual people getting assistance with living

It's a very small anecdote admittedly but my God the amount of subversion and backstabbing the senior employees would do to the juniors like me was staggering, and I got fired after taking the fall for an incident I wasn't even on shift for
