I genuinely think the Season 3 Ezra dark side arc is going to go down like a teen using drugs in a primetime family drama. He's going to start experimenting with it a little bit just out of curiosity, but then it's going to become a problem that he thinks he's hiding and getting away with all the way up to a big intervention.

Kanan: "Ezra is there anything you want to tell us? You've been disappearing to your bunk for hours at a time and you've been erratic."

Ezra: "Oh so what? So I tried a little Dark Side Kanan! We were at a Sith temple! Everyone does it at a Sith temple, it's what you do. Are you telling me you didn't try a little Dark Side once or twice when you were a Padawan? That's when people experiment, when they're Padawans!"

Hera: "We're just concerned about you Ezra, we don't want you to lost control."

Ezra: "I'm in complete control! I'm in control of everything. I can control anything..."

Loved this episode, especially your discussion of Vader claiming that he killed Anakin a long time ago. This is the sort of thing that prompts endless fruitless discussion on Reddit threads about the metaphysical status of "Anakin" and "Darth Vader," whether they're actually two people, whether Vader's claim is literally true, etc.

It's much more fruitful IMO to do what you did: to understand the claim as something Vader believes or wants Ahsoka to believe, but that doesn't actually speak to metaphysical questions at all. "Vader killing Anakin" is a useful story or fiction that Vader/Anakin can invoke when it's convenient, but it doesn't have to be more than that.
