Doing Art And Things

I am a 31-year old artist who's been doing art in one way or another since highschool. Mostly furry stuff or stuff involving monsters. So yeah! Enjoy your time here.

Y'know what? I'm gonna do what I said I realized I could earlier and start posting some lore snippets from an eldritch horror magical girl thing I'm working on. Yall can't stop me, I can do what I want!

A Small Collection Of Snippets About Melody Rains, A Background/Lore Character In This Setting I Am Piecing Together

The Vow

“The purpose of we, The Starlight Sisterhood, is to safeguard and protect this and all worlds from the acts of those who are wicked and cruel. To spread love, compassion, justice, hope, knowledge, and joy wherever we go. For much like the stars are boundless in their scope and scale do we seek to be boundless fonts of good in this life. So for all you who despair, for all you who feel that hope is nothing more than a false dream, for all you whom have been deprived of kindness and light… Look up! Look up to the stars and know that a wish isn’t foolish! That hope isn’t foolish! Look up and know that no matter how grim things may seem there is always a chance for it get better!

Hold on.

We’re on our way to help you.

We promise.”

~The vow of the Starlight Sisterhood

Melody's Sacrifice

“It is only through continuous acts of care and love that we find ourselves renewed. We do good because it feels good. A simple notion, I know but… Oft times the simplest things are the truest. I don’t need to give some big speech. I just need to show you the same care and love I’ve always shown. So.

Here I go.”

~The final speech of the third leader of The Starlight Sisterhood, Melody Rains, before she heroically sacrificed her life to annihilate a sentient and malicious black hole that was threatening the Sol System.

First Speech Of Melody Rains

“There is liberation in the certainty of death. Of knowing that in this time, this place, you will die. When you reach that point, when you achieve that complete understanding of your death and its sudden inevitability you reach a sort of… Happiness. This is it. It’s over. This whole sparrow flying through two open windows in brief but fleeting light and warmth bullshit you’ve been putting up with? It’s finished. Maybe there’s a heaven or a hell or something for you after all this and maybe there isn’t. But here, in that moment, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is that certainty and how utterly it eclipses everything else.

There’s liberation in that I’ve found. Because when you’ve hit that moment… What do you have left holding you back?”

~First speech of Melody Rains upon assuming the mantle of leadership of The Starlight Sisterhood.

On The Topic Of The Mortality Of THINGS Which Exist Outside

“I think it is possible to kill those Things. I just don’t think it’s a very good idea.”

“Wh- Mel?! Why?!”

“Because what do we do if a seemingly harmless animal suddenly kills a human being?”

~Overheard conversation between a newly recruited Melody Rains and Myla Moon
