So over the weekend my spouse suggested we watch the classic movie Labyrinth. I know it is a movie that they love quite a bit and it is one that I have heard of a lot. I do not know why it has taken me this long to watch the darn thing.

A few of the things that really stood out to me:

  • The pacing: This movie knows how to move! With just over 90 minutes it tells a wonderfully fun story and doesn't let you get bogged down in one point for to long.
  • The cast of characters: There is a wonderful entourage of characters that all add something to the group. Everyone fits together well and has you cheering for our heroes. And don't even get me started on the villain, David Bowie makes a wonderful Goblin King, and I would have loved to have seen him in more roles like this.
  • The set/creature design: Everything is so fun to look at. I absolutely love practical effects and nobody does it like Jim Henson.

There is truly so many great things I could say about this movie, and I have listed a few, but overall I want to say that if you some how have not seen this classic, I highly recommend it, and if you have seen it, then go get some friends together and watch it again. It is an enjoyable watch.

Thanks for reading,
