no those were intended to be final! maybe the logo looks better in the context of the gif camera, hm. and the checkerboard is meant to give it sort of a dark, sleek, race-y vibe. would be curious to hear what about those isn't working for you, if you don't mind!
The checkerboard kinda reminded me of the transparent png checkerboard; so I thought maybe you intended something else to be there. I think it looks good.
The logo, to me, it feels like it's a general placeholder that signals what the final might resemble. Like the way the x is drawn feels like: "it's gonna be made out of flames (or be otherwise emphasized in contrast to the other letters) and have a kinda 90's-00's 'X-treme' look to it."
gotcha! maybe i'll consider some other colors for the checkerboard, i was hoping the animation would make it feel different enough from the default png thing lol.
might also make a higher res version of the logo, then... it might be that the reason it looks placeholder-ish here is that it's been scaled up (where on the gif vignette, for instance, it couldn't be any more detailed than it is at the size that it is)
I really like it! One comment I'd make is that the negative space in the top left might look better if it was filled
