My thoughts~


Hack n' Plan is one of the only two project management tools I know of specifically designed for game dev. (The other is Codecks which is IMO a cool concept but lacking features.)

I've been using HnP for a while now on my solo work. It's nice, but at this scale it's more or less equivalent to every other decent project management web app.

The game design doc integration is potentially powerful, but there's just no reason for it in my solo workflow

I don't see big budget teams ever moving away from large scale services like JIRA... too much infrastructure would need to be rebuilt.

Which leaves tools like Hack n' Plan catering to midsized teams (triple I and double A?). At such a scale it might be really powerful, but I'm not sure

Yeah, I also found it pretty lacking at this point. Too many good alternatives available (including free plans) that have better design. Still has a special place in nostalgia for being game dev specific but can't think of a reason to use it nowadays.
