This really came home to me while making the Yurivania games.
Doing almost every bit of game dev on your own means often not knowing what the heck you are doing! 😆 It can be fun and liberating, but also sometimes frustrating and limiting.
I found these videos very helpful in solidifying some of the blocking and animation techniques I osmosed as a teen. I still have loads to learn!
This weekend is Roguelike Celebration!
This is one of my very favorite games events even though I don't make or play roguelikes (Dwarf Fortress aside) because of the breadth of topics they cover and the inclusive attitude they foster.
