I finished the Heart of Arel and I super dug it!
I think that you should play it, too! Allow me to gush about why:
- I really loved how everything in the game, from the mechanics to the progression to little details in the UI, are constantly driving the focus back to the polycule
- I love how the progression is really about the polycule members growing closer to one another and processing
- The characters speak in ways I hear frequent on- and offline but very seldom in games
- The minigames are fun and cute and quite clever (minor example spoiler below the fold)
- The UI is very lively for a Gameboy game π¬β¨
- The character art is stellar
- It's so nice to play a game about queer women who have already mostly figured their shit out!
Here's a small visual example of how the game reenforces its themes. Each corner of the dialogue box frame is a symbol referencing a key trait of one of the playable characters~
