I wonder if it makes sense to find less populated tags to file your game/art/music under on sites like Itch or Steam?

I typically put my games under "colorful" and "pixel art" alongside some more specific ones, but honestly those are pretty general and therefore super crowded....

So, I lost the link to this discussion but:

I recently saw a thread on Itch wherein Leaf explained that the design of the Itch tag system is intended to drive devs toward general-purpose tags and to drive players away from freeform tag searching.

That being the case, it's clear that finding and using unpopulated tags won't help. šŸ·ļøāœ‚ļø

Personally, I don't like this approach as either a player or a dev; but, I can't claim to have solved game discoverability either, so it is what it is
