really can't see this game being successful at this price point. if it was just Cool Merch then I would get it but an actual game that you're meant to play...? that's a huge dealbreaker.

Wait, one booster pack is $9.99, and a pack of four is $39.99, making it three cents less expensive to just buy four packs individually. Isn't the whole point of bundling items together to convince people to spend more money to get more things per dollar?
the item description says that the purpose of the bundle is to help save on shipping
eh i mean, it kinda is merch, each card has something based on one of the big streams/events
and to be fair,
- Jerma has a pretty dedicated following and hardly any official merch, if any at all iirc.
- They have to commission a company to make the cards to order. Thus, that inflates the cost since theres a middle man, unlike WotC who have their own printing factories.
It is double the cost of i.e. a pokemon card pack, but apparently they already ran out of preorders, so the demand is definitely there. Its also initially a limited run so that creates some scarcity (not like they were planning that, it's just cuz they wanna gauge interest before spending a ton of money on it.)
Plus its a nonprofit thing iirc which is always nice.
