computers have gotten hundreds of times faster than they were in the 90s, but unless you're a gamer, 3d artist, or video editor, you'd never fucking know. electron apps put a serious hit on overall performance. browsers are expected to do so much that it takes half a gig of RAM to look at a static webpage, and most websites take longer to load now on my half-gigabit connection than they did ten years ago when I was sharing a DSL connection with another family. in conclusion, abolish javascript.
