how the fuck does android use 1.6gb of RAM on boot with nothing else running??? my desktop doesn't use that much on a fresh boot. what's especially insulting is that this is more than half of the phone's RAM. was literally any effort put into optimizing the OS for this hardware????
yes, actually - I went out of my way and used ADB to nuke a bunch of shit off of the device. before that it used like 2gb of RAM after boot. incredible. this is inexcusably bad. remember when flagship smartphones were like $200? this phone cost me like $150 refurbished. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect it to be able to like... load webpages.
god I hate smartphones. please let the year of the Linux handset come soon.
