Trite, contrived, mediocre, milquetoast, amateurish, infantile, cliche-and-gonorrhea-ridden paean to conformism, eye-fucked me, affront to humanity, war crime, should literally be tried for war crimes, resolutely shit, lacking in imagination, uninformed reimagining of, limp-wristed, premature, ill-informed attempt at, talentless fuckfest, recidivistic shitpeddler, pedantic, listless, savagely boring, just one repulsive laugh after another.

I feel like a lot of people overlook or underestimate the fact that the world we live in is deliberately designed to make us dumber.

I completely forgot about the effects of stress on the brain, which seems like a really important thing to leave out. there's probably some other shit too. I'll probably come back to this one.

feel like I was cooking w this bit tho. wanna expand on that.

A student in Capitalist society is simultaneously worker and commodity, who's job is to refine themselves into a productive member of that society, and then sell themselves to it.

Despite the best efforts of most teachers, the modern education system is designed almost entirely antithetically to the goal of educating.

I was homeschooled and it's surprising how many people resist knowing this. I've had people shout in my face when I say that the education system depresses natural learning and natural curiosity. I am not zealous enough to say that homeschooling is a panacea, but the way I did it, I and my siblings came out fervently curious and able to "just learn" in a way that I don't see most people able to do.

good piece. I've been thinking about this subject myself, because of how "intelligence" in a very narrow and almost nonsensical sense has come to be vaunted as a prized human attribute by a society that practically requires the mass of humanity to remain permanently muddled and therefore vulnerable to sales pitches and manipulation. ~Chara

As in, "deliberately making people anxious and survival-conscious" so they're forced to cope with problems instead of fixing them? because that's something I'm thinking about a lot lately
