I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of this topic honestly

I completely forgot about the effects of stress on the brain, which seems like a really important thing to leave out. there's probably some other shit too. I'll probably come back to this one.

feel like I was cooking w this bit tho. wanna expand on that.

A student in Capitalist society is simultaneously worker and commodity, who's job is to refine themselves into a productive member of that society, and then sell themselves to it.

Despite the best efforts of most teachers, the modern education system is designed almost entirely antithetically to the goal of educating.

I was homeschooled and it's surprising how many people resist knowing this. I've had people shout in my face when I say that the education system depresses natural learning and natural curiosity. I am not zealous enough to say that homeschooling is a panacea, but the way I did it, I and my siblings came out fervently curious and able to "just learn" in a way that I don't see most people able to do.

that but also just like. stress wrecks your brain in the long term too, it makes it hard to think about things and absorb information.
