Trite, contrived, mediocre, milquetoast, amateurish, infantile, cliche-and-gonorrhea-ridden paean to conformism, eye-fucked me, affront to humanity, war crime, should literally be tried for war crimes, resolutely shit, lacking in imagination, uninformed reimagining of, limp-wristed, premature, ill-informed attempt at, talentless fuckfest, recidivistic shitpeddler, pedantic, listless, savagely boring, just one repulsive laugh after another.

quicktime isn’t a media player. what it is, is a joke. it’s probably the worst bit of software that apple made, to be honest, because 70% of the time i thought “why not try quicktime for that file” it said “naw mate sorry unsupported file type”. idiocracy.

where it is good though, is the ability to scrub H.264/5 videos backwards without lag. but that’s it’s only good feature. IT DOESN’T EVEN PLAY .MKV FILES MOST OF THE TIME, WHY WOULDN’T IT.

I think QuickTime was my first experience as a wee child with software that was just straight up garbage

I don't have a particularly interesting story or anything it's just the first piece of software that I had the thought "this does not do the thing I think it should be able to do"

I thought quicktime was like the apple midi equivalent because the only context I remember seeing it in was playing midi-like files and hearing it got ported to windows at some point. I guess I thought that the only reason it would be ported to windows would be so windows users could play quicktime files???? I never considered it was trying to be an actual media player like VLC or winamp
