Trite, contrived, mediocre, milquetoast, amateurish, infantile, cliche-and-gonorrhea-ridden paean to conformism, eye-fucked me, affront to humanity, war crime, should literally be tried for war crimes, resolutely shit, lacking in imagination, uninformed reimagining of, limp-wristed, premature, ill-informed attempt at, talentless fuckfest, recidivistic shitpeddler, pedantic, listless, savagely boring, just one repulsive laugh after another.

AI doesn't exist. this isn't semantics or nitpicking, artificial intelligence does not exist. neural networks, large language models, and generative adversarial networks are not intelligent by any reasonable definition. labelling them as such is intentionally misleading. it's false advertising, and in a world where laws actually applied to corporations, everyone selling """AI""" services right now would be sued for it! when you use this misnomer, even in a negative way, you legitimatize it and play right into the hands of the hucksters selling this stuff. stop that.

"oh well it's the most commonly accepted nomenclature—"

doesn't matter! it's factually wrong!

I'm curious what you mean by intelligence in this argument. Are you just saying they're not very smart? Is there a difference between having "intelligence" and being "intelligent" What are you saying AI means? My curiousity is going in a bunch of different directions :eggbug-shocked:

Lest you misunderstand, I'm not a proponent of AI. And I'm a staunch believer that it's harmful to pretend that computers are people or are like people. I just don't understand what the argument is here.
