• They/Them

Trite, contrived, mediocre, milquetoast, amateurish, infantile, cliche-and-gonorrhea-ridden paean to conformism, eye-fucked me, affront to humanity, war crime, should literally be tried for war crimes, resolutely shit, lacking in imagination, uninformed reimagining of, limp-wristed, premature, ill-informed attempt at, talentless fuckfest, recidivistic shitpeddler, pedantic, listless, savagely boring, just one repulsive laugh after another.

I have heard vague rumblings of a new Extremely Stupid Discourse™, presumably related to accessibility on Cohost. I have not, however, seen this Stupid Discourse1. What I have seen is a handful of well-written, thoughtful, and, for the most part, respectful posts from a few different sides of a larger debate. I think this is because I'm very liberal with muting and blocking people.

I block people all the time. I probably block at least one person every day. Blocking someone isn't an outright rejection of everything that person is or stands for, or a last resort. You can just do it. If I see someone stirring shit or being an asshole and I'm not already familiar with them, I just block them. It's free and easy. I see very few stupid people now.

Try Blocking™ Today!

  1. this is not an invitation to show me people being angry and stupid on the internet. I will mail you bedbugs. Do Not Fucking Test Me.

Fun trick: if someone is being silly but you, for some reason, can't bring yourself to block 'em right then and there, you can keep a tally of bad takes in the private notes box! Then, block on three strikes! Also leaves a convenient reminder of why you did that in case you forget.

i made a pretty long post not long ago about how people seem to get mad at me for reasons i don't know and without me knowing they even get mad for a long time

i feel like advice like this would just get people to block me every 1 out of 3 times i make a bad first impression

i've also seen plenty of people mentioning various issues they had when other people blocked them, like missing huge threads and getting told various forms of "kys" by a bunch of people on a reply they and the original poster can't view or delete

also you're giving away free bedbugs?
