I make a lot of stuff but plugs are for the other site.

First shot of animation: Penny sending her message in a bottle, in a pre-credits cold open.

No previous movie in this watch has been so driven by the relationship between two characters. Bianca and Bernard are adorable together. The basic loop structure of clue to danger to clue has cute moments added to make variety and connection.

The cold open scene uses canvas paintings for backgrounds which is so unique and textured, but that doesn’t last past the title. The whole movie is dark and grimy, split between seedy 70s New York and a slime-covered bayou. Medusa is the farewell character of a retiring animator and he went out on top; incredible extension in every direction at once while still having control and coordination. Remarkable.

"The Rescuers" is my favourite Disney movie despite how slow-paced it is. The constant darkness that two little lights break through gives such a great message of "just saving one person makes a difference".

The music is strangely ethereal, the vistas are like puddles in the waking dawn, the idea of "United Nations but with mice" is god damn adorable, and Madame Medusa's speech of "you get down there and find that diamond or you'll never see Teddy again" is a masterstroke of Dropping the Mask In Real Time.
