Riverdale, regarded as the infamous endpoint of both teen drama and gritty reboots, is actually neither of those things. And I have the historical record to prove it. Ever since February 2017 my wife and I have been making a recap podcast, covering the events of the show, connecting them to nearly 80 years of comics, and saying things we would never let our families hear.
The show's 7th and final season just began, and we're back alongside it. After the superpowered excess of season 6 it's a return to basics, sort of. The characters are back in high school, in 1955, and nobody is getting serial murdered (yet). Come on, give it a listen.
