I know I complain a lot about the amount of backyard fireworks in this neighborhood making Mokey afraid when she wasn’t before, but it’s gotten to the point where the sound of rain makes her shake. The world is cruel to my little friend.

Thats stinks. Pets get more anxious as they age. My dogs always get scared of thunder when they're older when it never used to bother them as younger dogs.
One 4th of July evening I heard a rattling, clanging sound coming from our open garage between distant fireworks, and went out to pull a chihuahua mix from our recycling bin. Poor thing had escaped her home down the street in a panic, and then for some reason buried herself in our empty drink cans, so with every shiver she rattled the cans and scared herself more.
