Went into Daitarn 3 expecting a frankly mid monster-of-the-week series perhaps elevated by the considerable talent that worked on it, and while it very much is that it also sort of seems like it set the foundation for some of the next 20 years of scifi anime?? There is so much in this show that appears to be a heavy stylistic influence on a wide range of later media.

On the whole I don't know that I like it as much as some of the other super robot shows I've seen, but nearly every episode has at least one really cool thing. There's some meat on its bones.
