currently sitting in pokemon scarlet hatching hundreds of seel because back in the X&Y days I looked at shiny dewgong and thought "wow that warmer off-white color is kinda nice" and then spent weeks of my life hatching over 10,000 seel (all with 1/512 chance to be shiny) and never got one. and the time has come to resume The Quest

do you know that the chance of hatching two eggs and both being shiny is 0.00038%?
do you know that the chance of hatching three eggs and all being shiny is 0.00000075%?
do you know that the chance of hatching ten thousand eggs and none being shiny is 0.00000032%?

I hunted a few mass outbreaks and managed to finally catch two shiny seel from one. I spotted them out of the corner of my eye from a mile away, so there's no way I missed any when hatching eggs because of how similar they look to the normal version

"congratulations you finally did it" hahaha no. no no no. I need to hatch one. the hunt will continue. I NEED this. it's personal. mass outbreaks have the same odds as breeding, 1/512, at best. except I actually found both of them after the outbreak had cleared, so I didn't even have those odds (though was higher than base odds because of a couple other boosts). there's no reason I should get 2 in maybe 400 seel worth of mass outbreaks and 0 in 11,000 eggs. it is statistically near impossible.

someone is mocking me, whether it's the game, or god, or the seel themselves, and I am dang near at my limit. but I will persevere. and they will see.
