definitely looking a lot more mysterious and eerie now, but maybe taking him harder in the direction of "sleep paralysis demon" might be more what you're looking for?
Have you considered going less humanoid and/or including some negative space? Like maybe his face has a clear gap you can see through.
In short, ham up the otherworldly-ness?
