I'm not 100% on how they met, though I imagine they likely met on the first day of classes at a local community college. Anna was sitting in one of the rows a bit before when Hydra came in with a ton of sodas from a vending machine in the hall and started drinking them all. Anna was a bit surprised by this, and her stare got Hydra's attention. After the initial awkwardness, they started to talk.
Their conversation was cut a bit short by the professor, so they talked over lunch, where Hydra brought more soda for herself, though saved one or two cans for Anna.
