Every time I play a new RPG I'm always like, damn, I think THIS group of scrappy youths might actually just be a little bit TOO scrappy, I don't know if they really have it together enough to overthrow a kingdom or kill a god. Somehow I've never even once been right about this

I just want an RPG where you start as a group of heroes who is very clearly capable and then halfway through they all fucking die and you have to get a ragtag group of people together to finish the job they started. You're not the heroes of destiny, you're the heroes of "fuck it we ball"
A group of has-their-shit-together 30somethings plan perfectly for the Big Bad and then fall flat on their face.
