sometimes you just really like a neat doodad even if it's impractical

Understandable but counterpoint I've got weak little noodle arms and a blender does not rely on my upper body strength

Using it for long enough will fix that!

I don't think a mortar and pestle can toast bread tbh

Can't you use a rice cooker also to make those super-fluffy pancakes?

Also probably usable for other grains that are cooked in a similar way to rice
