An FBI special agent was carjacked at gunpoint in Washington, D.C. The agent's blue Chevy Malibu, containing body armor and a radio, was stolen but later recovered. The incident is being investigated by the DC Metropolitan Police Department, FBI Washington Field Office, and the Metropolitan Police Department Carjacking Task Force. Washington, D.C. has seen a significant increase in carjackings this year, with over 900 offenses recorded, a rise of over 100% compared to last year. Most carjackings involve guns and juveniles account for the majority of arrests.
